Below are links to organizations, Des Fleurs Garden Club supporters and some of our favorate people and places. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
As a locally controlled nonprofit organization, the Oxford Community Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in greater Oxford. The Foundation provides donors with a flexible, cost effective way to improve the Oxford community now, and for all time.
Located in the historic Oxford College building, the Oxford Community Arts Center (OCAC) offers a home for the arts in the Oxford area. The Center works to facilitate the activities of the community arts organizations and to promote the arts and arts education. Des Fleurs became an OCAC partner in 2005 and is responsible for the landscaping around the Center. We also built and continue to maintain the Children's Garden at OCAC.
The Ohio Association of Garden Clubs was formed in March of 1930 and incorporated in 1959. Its stated objectives are - to bring into a relationship of mutual helpfulness garden clubs in the state of Ohio; to promote interest in and knowledge of horticulture, gardening and garden therapy, to encourage home, community and state beautification; to assist, when requested, State and National Parks Services; to promote appreciation and conservation of wildflowers, wild life, forests, wilderness areas and other natural resources and cooperate with other agencies promoting these interests; and to make combined action of its members possible for the accomplishment of all these objectives. John Devore – Devore’s Land and Water Gardens John DeVore is the founder and principal designer of DeVore’s Land & Water Gardens Inc. (formerly DeVore’s Landscape Service). John is the American partner and director of Garden Design School USA, which opened its first US branch in Massachusetts in September, 2009. John worked with club members to design and complete Phase I of our landscaping project at the Oxford Community Arts Center. John’s design services were donated in their entirety. John also donated his services to the Oxford Community Arts Center to design and implement a water remediation garden on the southwest side of the historic building.
Margarette Beckwith oversees all projects at Beckwith Chapman Associates. Her design experience spans both private practice and academia. Margarette has researched the topic of therapeutic gardens with particular emphasis on the value to individuals with severe cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. A number of articles have been published in journals in this country and Japan, indicating the value of her approach for designers, facility administrators, and health care staff. Her work is included in Healing Gardens: Therapeutic Benefits and Design Recommendations, (1999, Marcus and Barnes, John Wiley Press). Margarette has participated as speaker and facilitator in numerous conferences, including the National Alzheimer’s Design Assistance Program sponsored by the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
In 2007 Margarette pulled Des Fleurs club member’s ideas together to create a wonderful design for our Children’s Garden. Her services were donated in their entirety.

OXFORD FARMERS MARKET UPTOWN sets up in a city parking lot near Oxford Uptown Parks with vendors offering all the fresh, local, seasonal foods and goods you've come to expect from your friends and neighbors. SPROUTS, an interactive, exploratory program of gardening, nutrition, art, games and just plain fun is offered for children each week
Mary's Plant Farm is a small farm where the plants are field grown. Their perennial plant list is extensive and includes many shade and native varieties, many varieties of flowering shrubs and understory trees, plus unusual and hard to find flowering shade trees. For over 50 years Mary has been growing the ordinary and unusual in plants.
The Audubon Miami Valley (AMV)
The Audubon Miami Valley (AMV) has been a local chapter of the National Audubon Society in Butler and Preble Counties since 1976. Our strong membership and active leadership make us one of the most dynamic chapters in the Midwest. AMV is an incorporated, nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization

Avian Research and Education Institute
The Avian Research and Education Institute (AREI) is a non-profit organization - 501(C)3- dedicated to enhancing the preservation of avian populations. Their mission is to protect and conserve avian populations through research, education and advocacy. To this end, AREI is committed to establishing biological stations that will provide bird banding and environmental education to the public. Education, Research Director and Master Bander, Dr. David Russell, is actively involved in educating people of all ages throughout Ohio and Indiana. Each year, many school children, college students, retirement classes, community members and other visitors come to the banding stations to learn about AREI’s work and how they, as individuals, can help birds

Cope Environmental Center is situated on 102 beautiful acres in Centerville, Indiana. The property features over three miles of hiking trails meandering through hardwood forests, grasslands, over 12 acres of prairie, three wetlands, and two ponds, and a significant collection of conifers.
